Code of Conduct

Commitment to Ethical Excellence

At Stratus, we hold ourselves to the highest ethical standards to ensure fairness, integrity, and professionalism in all our endeavors and in arbitration.

Our Code of Conduct outlines the principles that guide our actions and interactions within our organization and with our stakeholders and disputing parties.

By adhering to these principles, we uphold our commitment to impartiality, independence, fairness, and quality and foster trust and confidence in our services and arbitration decisions.

Code of Conduct

As AAA, AHLA, and circuit court appointed arbitrators, it is essential that we follow the principles of complete impartiality, independence, fairness, communication, sound judgment, efficiency, and confidentiality and thereby adhere to the following Code of Conduct.

Integrity and Honesty

  • We conduct ourselves with honesty, transparency, and integrity in all our dealings.
  • We strive to maintain the highest ethical standards and avoid conflicts of interest in our work. We take pride in reporting conflicts of interest and never rule or take on a case where our own bias could be present. This is the Stratus promise to our parties.

Respect and Dignity

  • We treat all individuals with respect, dignity, and fairness, regardless of their background, position, or beliefs.
  • We foster an inclusive and supportive environment where diversity is celebrated and discrimination is not tolerated.
  • We believe in the principle that justice is blind and decide cases objectively based solely on facts and never on who the disputing parties are.

Confidentiality and Privacy

  • We safeguard the confidentiality and privacy of all information entrusted to us, including protected health information, individually identifiable health information, and all case details by the parties through data and privacy compliant software and procedures.
  • We adhere to strict confidentiality protocols and protect the privacy rights of all parties involved in our arbitration proceedings.

Professionalism and Excellence

  • We strive for the highest excellence in everything we do at Stratus, delivering the highest-quality services that meet the needs and expectations of parties and of ourselves.
  • We maintain professional conduct and uphold the reputation of Stratus through our actions and interactions.

Compliance and Accountability

  • We comply with all applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards, ensuring legal and regulatory compliance in our operations.
  • We hold ourselves accountable for our actions and decisions, taking responsibility for the outcomes and consequences of our conduct.

Continuous Learning and Improvement

  • We embrace a culture of continuous learning and professional development, seeking opportunities to enhance our knowledge, skills, and expertise.

Conflict Resolution

  • We approach conflicts and disputes with a commitment to fair and impartial resolution, promoting dialogue to achieve just and unbiased outcomes. We adhere strictly to the principles of arbitration within the American Health Law Association and its code of ethics.
  • We prioritize dispute resolution techniques to resolve conflicts amicably and avoid unnecessary escalation at every stage.

By adhering to this Code of Conduct, we at Stratus uphold the values and principles that define our organization and guide our actions every day. We are committed to fostering a culture of integrity, professionalism, and respect, both internally and externally, as we fulfill our mission to provide exceptional healthcare arbitration services.
